Supporting the Transport Network Operations Center (NOC) for DISA PAC, I monitor and maintain the ATM, Promina and DISN Core (SONET) networks and troubleshoot network and user level outages. Hardware supported includes Marconi ATM switches, Cisco ONS15454 MSPP, Sycamore ODXC, SafeNet and Thales bulk encryptors, Promina and IDNX multiservice access platform, Carrier Access Broadmore 500/1700 and Timeplex CX-1500 multiplexers, TrueTime 56000 timing distribution system, Cylink encryptors. Monitoring software used includes Multi Router Traffic Grapher, Panavue, INMS, HP OpenView, Silvx Manager, SafeNet Manager, CTAM/Thales Manager, Cisco Transport Manager. Remedy TMS used for trouble ticket management.

Contractor - ATM Engineer
Working as a contractor under the COMPACFLT command in Pearl Harbor, HI, as part of the NMCI (Navy Marine Corps Intranet) project, I assist in collapsing network switches and routers on the legacy ATM network (OBAN - Oahu Base Area Network) as users are migrated to the new NMCI network. The hardware consists mostly of Fore/Marconi LE155 and ASX4000 switches and Powerhubs.

Provided technical support for the Adtech AX/4000 Broadband Network Test system: installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Technologies supported include ATM, Frame Relay, 10/100/1000 Ethernet, IPv4 and IPv6, PPP, Utopia and SONET at rates from T1/E1 up to OC-192. Routing protocols include BGP-4, MPLS (RSVP-TE and CR-LDP), IS-IS, OSPF, RFC 2547bis. Other products supported: SX/12, SX/13A, SX/14 Data Link Simulator, IP Wave Network Impairment Emulator, Gigabit Ethernet Network Impairment Emulator (GENIE), RFC 2544 QoS Performance Test, Router Performance Tester (RPT), ScriptCenter, Spirent Connect. Also provided Tcl/Tk scripting support. I did some technical writing, and I gained some familiarity with Cisco routers (3600, 7200), MKS Source Integrity, Siebel Call Center and Service, GPS receivers.
